Did you actually put them on more than the one spawner? Last I checked with staff there was only one spawner with jackals on it.
I believe Ony may be talking about courels with the specific panther. Courels can be found in Exodus, I don't believe they spawn in Khaldun, but I could be wrong and they could have changed that.
Other one slot pets that can work are predator hell cats (the big ones) or hell hounds. Frenzied ostards can work on lower level spawn but I have yet to see them be effective other than for some basic hunting tasks.
Cu Sidhes tank better than a Hiryu IMO, but thats because they heal themselves. Hiryus do have somewhat better damage output though I believe. If you can get a hold of them both chaos steeds and holy war steeds can be good tanks, especially against the right mobs.
Altar has the right idea with practicing healing with smaller groups, but if you are good on cross heals in general handling a pack isn't too bad.
A good Disco tamer template would be Tame/Lore/Vet/Mage/Music/Disco (anything left over until you scroll in Med), the trick with this is getting decent good MR on your luck suit too. The is not too much of an issue once you get a hold of a charm of the domesticator (Keeping taming Real Skill, but use the other +40 on it to keep Lore and vet at 100 even when you scroll them), a Last book of Arkaza can help you out with mana problems on a tamer while still getting you 125 luck, and with an Armor of Fortune (once you can find one) you might be able to trade out luck on another peice of armor for some good Mana Regen. a Sash of greed can also ease the skill tightness (+10 Music) while also giving you another 100 luck.
One of the best places to train pets IMO is gauntlet, but thats after you have them bonded. of course this can be dangerous if you dont have backup. But with one or two otehr people, the gauntlet is byfar the fastest place to train a pet.
As for what pet to use on which room of doom. Doom can be soloed with pretty much every pet in my post. Some rooms are more difficult than others with certain pets, but all can be done with one set.
For most pets the need for getting top stats is not absolutly necessary. But if you are putting together a pack its far more important. Finding Jackals with 300+ (Preferably 330+) strength is pretty key to getting the most damage output. We're looking at a difference of 20 damage a hit per pet when comparing low strength jackals to high strength ones. While 20 less damage from a single pet on every hit sucks you can still deal with it. When you are talking about 100 less damage per hit (5 jackals) it can be crippling. The strength of a pack is it's damage output, so that is why not cripling your dps is so important.
