To sum it up very briefly from my point of view:
Linux = better and even easier to use as server
windows = better and easier to use as workstation
Now by better, I'm not really taking stability or price in mind.
I'm wanting to look at going Linux for my workstation OS though, but currently I'm still a windows guy when it comes to workstations, but I swear by Linux when it comes to servers. Sadly where I work its purely MS, and the stuff that is Linux is crappy because its badly maintained, so it makes Linux/Unix look bad. (like some 486 running a DNS server for the internet... need to upgrade badly)
I've see linux get better faster then windows over the years as a workstation though, so its really made great progress. If/when I do switch to Linux for my workstation I'll probably ask myself why I waited so long.
