Wow, really sad that I know my corporate network's subnet off by heart like that.
Not that surprising if you work with it enough. And besides, the 10.0.0.0 range is pretty common in corporate networks. It's open for private network use. Kinda like the common 192.168.0.0 that's often used in home networks, except a larger range.

Yeah 192.168.1 is the range I use on mine. My server is .10 my PC is .100, and my parants is .101 I think. the server is static since it also acts as DNS and a non static DNS server is a PIA. Possible, but VERY inefficient.
BTW back on the house topic, what are your network plans for the house, given it's nice and big? A subnet per storey, perhaps, cisco catalyst managed switches?
