When the artifacts get changed, what happens is the game checks every location where the item exists:
- Locked down in a house
- Inside a container
- On a player
- In a player's pack
- On a vendor
So wherever it is, it will get converted/changed to whatever the item's change is supposed to be:
- A new item
- A conversion to a different item of similar attributes
- A reroll (Which is completely random from the originating artifact system such as a lesser AOA or doom gauntlet artifact).

Final reminder about the artifact changes. The changes will be finalized on Thursday, September 22, 2011. Once they are finalized, there will likely be no more changes made to the artifacts that were addressed.

TC1 FEEDBACK: Artifact Changes
On TC1 right now:
My Horseman's helms still all have only 10 resists. I thought existing helms would retain their resists and new ones would spawn with a base of 10 and go up as before (basically remain unchanged).
Holy Knights cloak only has 10 HP increase.
Charm of the Domesticator is missing +20 Vet.
Ring of the Dead is missing 150 Luck.
Red Dragon's Grapple resists are not right.
The Orb of Moons looks like a crystal ball instead of a moonrock.
Yomotsu Elder Sleeves got a resist nerf for some reason.
Lightning Shoes has only FC1 and nothing else.
Angelic Restitution is all messed, has 15 LRC instead of 15 LMC, only MR3 instead of MR5 and no mana increase.
That's all I had time to look at so far. It seems TC1 has an earlier drop of the artifact changes, although some changes I see there have never been discussed.

Just checked the image on the firsr post, they should be identical cept for a name and look change. It's possible that something in game didnt transfer over properly.

Also, another change: Any items that got a name change or have been changed by another item that were on player vendors now go in the player's backpack. The reason was because the pricing info gets reset.

Ok got it going. That was odd. It's up now. Currently converting from file->SQL in the background and should be done in about 10 minutes. I'll reboot it again after just to ensure nothing goes wacky.

Ok, everything looks good except arcane earrings only have two properties and brace of paracelsus is missing the +15 skill. Also, the items that have been transformed into another type have retained their old color (i.e. yomotsu elder sleeves, stiched lich skin), although that is probably preferrable. Definitely items that were dyed should retain their color.

I'll check out the earings and brace when I get home. (think brace was suppose to get +20 too). We decided to just keep the hues. For non dyed items, the hues will be considered rare if they got changed for the new item, but at least if anyone used dye they keep that color.
Even items that got a name change had to be converted as the class name changed, so quite a few items actually got converted, so when you login it's normal for lot of stuff to be in your bag or bank. Even stuff that just got a name change.
We found a bug with poisoning that's been around for a while, it's a complex one as it has to do with packets, but we may be able to do a work around so we can still release. We'll play with that tonight.

All of the artifacts are now complete. There's a bit more sorting to do and that will come later. The vesper museum is in the process of finalization along with the custom artifacts that went to it.
Because custom clilocs do not exist for the tooltips, we needed to add some labels in. Because of this, certain names need to be shortened:
Arkkaza's Mystical Hat -> Nystul's Mystical Hat needed to be shortened.
Therefore, we need to name the hat something new, with a shorter name. The name should deal with something historical in UO.
A few ideas:
- Tyball, Malabelle or Mondain's hat
- Mage's Mantra

Why not just Nystul's hat? Also, Nystul's Mystical Hat is almost the same length as Spirit of the Totem or Rune Beetle Carapace, so is it really too long?

Swapping the name to Tyball or another name that wasn't used might be better.
So far Tyball's Hat fits nicely but we'll see how people feel about that name or if anyone has another suggestion.
